Ansu Fati has reportedly agreed to join AS Monaco on a deal that is nearing completion. The winger, who plays for Barcelona, has accepted Monaco’s project after turning down approaches from over five clubs in January. According to Fabrizio Romano, the transfer is imminent, with the two clubs finalising the details of a loan deal with a buy option and a sell-on clause.
The terms of the deal are expected to include a €20m transfer fee, as previously reported. Monaco are close to agreeing a loan deal with an option to buy the 22-year-old winger. Ansu Fati has played as a left or right winger, and has shown significant improvement under Hansi Flick’s guidance at Barcelona. In recent months, Flick has praised Fati’s performance, highlighting his progress.
Fati’s future at Barcelona had been uncertain, with the club reportedly open to selling him earlier in the year. However, it appears that a sale was not forthcoming, and a loan move to Monaco is now set to go through. The winger has had a mixed spell at Barcelona, and this move could provide him with more playing time and a fresh start.
