Benfica president Rui Costa has denied reports of an agreement with Real Madrid regarding the transfer of left-back Álvaro Carreras. According to Costa, the clubs have not reached a deal for the player. Carreras, who plays as a defender, has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, with previous reports suggesting the Spanish club was keen to expedite transfer talks.
Costa stated that while there were offers made, they were not satisfactory, not just for Carreras but for other players as well. He added that negotiations will continue as the player’s personal terms are already fully agreed upon. The development comes after a series of reports indicating Real Madrid’s interest in Carreras, with the club reportedly planning to discuss the transfer fee with Benfica.
