Eintracht Frankfurt has finalized the acquisition of Hugo Ekitike from Paris Saint-Germain, activating the buy option in the existing loan agreement. The German club has agreed to pay a transfer fee of €16.5 million to PSG. This fee is in addition to the €3.5 million already paid for the initial loan.
As part of the transfer agreement, PSG will retain a sell-on clause, which could benefit the French club in the event of Ekitike’s future transfer from Frankfurt.
This move follows a series of reports and speculations about Ekitike’s future, including a previous announcement on April 17, 2024, indicating Frankfurt’s intention to trigger the buy option. The completion of this transfer marks the end of a negotiation saga that began with PSG’s search for a loan deal for Ekitike earlier in the year.
