Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has disclosed the club’s intention to acquire a set-piece specialist during the summer transfer window. Pochettino highlighted the lack of a dedicated set-piece expert within the current squad and expressed the desire to address this gap ahead of the next season.

“We don’t have a specialist and we were talking about trying to find for next season a good one,” Pochettino stated, underscoring the importance of having a player with such a skill set.

In discussing potential targets, Pochettino referenced the impact a player like James Ward-Prowse of West Ham could have on a team. “Look at West Ham. Ward-Prowse. You add a player like him, you increase the percentage,” he said, alluding to the midfielder’s proficiency in dead-ball situations.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Chelsea, under Pochettino’s guidance, will be on the lookout for a player who can enhance their set-piece capabilities, which is an area the manager clearly believes could bolster the team’s overall performance.
